French Avenue Vulcan Baie Review: Fizzy Raspberry Lemonade in a Bottle 🍓🍋

French avenue vulcan baie review

French Avenue Vulcan Baie is one of those perfumes that smells like it should come with a little umbrella and a warning label saying: may cause excessive sniffing.

To my nose, this is fizzy raspberry lemonade. Not flat juice. Not boring fruity body spray. I mean that sparkling, sweet-tart, slightly bubbly kind of raspberry drink that makes you go, “Oh… she’s fun.” It has that juicy berry opening, a little sharpness, a bit of freshness, and then this playful sweetness that makes it feel bright, girly and cheeky without being too childish.

The opening is where Vulcan Baie really grabs you. The notes include blackcurrant, blackberry, rosemary and bergamot, so you get that dark berry fruitiness, but the bergamot gives it a citrusy lift. The rosemary sounds random, I know, but it stops it from smelling like straight-up syrup. It gives it a slightly fresh, herbal edge so the berries don’t run away with themselves.

Then the heart comes through with raspberry, vodka, basil and lily of the valley. This is where I get that fizzy raspberry lemonade vibe the most. The raspberry is bright and juicy, the vodka note gives it that cocktail feel, and the basil adds a little green twist. It is fruity, but not basic. Sweet, but not like you’ve rolled around in a bag of Haribos.

The dry down is softer and smoother with strawberry, musk, peach, amber, sandalwood, patchouli and incense. On my skin, it becomes more rounded and cosy, but it still keeps that fruity sparkle. The musk and sandalwood smooth everything out, while the peach and strawberry keep it cute and juicy.

French avenue vulcan baie review

I’d describe Vulcan Baie as a sweet fruity floral with a fizzy cocktail twist. It feels very spring/summer, but honestly, I’d wear this whenever I wanted something fun and easy. It is the kind of perfume you reach for when you want to smell pretty, juicy and a little bit “yes, I did make an effort.”

It gives me:
raspberry lemonade
berry cocktail
sweet but fresh
girly but not childish
playful with attitude

Performance-wise, I would not expect beast mode drama from this type of scent, but it does have a lovely presence. It is noticeable without choking the room, which I actually like for a sweet fruity perfume. Some retailers describe the sillage as moderate and the longevity around 6–8 hours, though that can vary depending on skin, weather and how much you spray.

Overall, French Avenue Vulcan Baie is a really fun one. It is juicy, sparkling, sweet and a little bit cheeky. If you love berry perfumes but want something that feels more like a fizzy raspberry lemonade cocktail than a basic body mist, this is absolutely worth trying.

Final thoughts?
She’s not shy. She’s not boring. She’s basically a berry lemonade with lip gloss on.

Rating: 9/10 🍓
Fun, fizzy, fruity and very easy to love.
